Debuting in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens directed by J.J. Abrams, the character was poised to become the primary villain of the sequel trilogy. He ruthlessly killed his father, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) when he attempted to bring him home and he even crossed his own master when he betrayed Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) in Star Wars: The Last Jedi....

With the iPhone 7 widely expected to be the first model without a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, many have wondered what headphones if any Apple will bundle with the next-gen hardware. The latest guess once again comes from Weibo (via iPhone7.nl) as we see two different photos showing the same set of Apple EarPod headphones with a Lightning connector end in place of the standard headphone connector. Take these images with a big grain of salt as we have in the past when similar images have surfaced, however, as such a product is easily Photoshopped....

The company says that it discovered the breach last Friday after detecting suspicious activity on its network. LastPass assures that its encrypted data is sophisticated enough and hence unlikely to be compromised. It says that it appends random digits to the keys, making it over 100,000 times more secure. “We are confident that our encryption measures are sufficient to protect the vast majority of users.” As a security measure, LastPass is requesting all of its users to change their master passwords....

Popular RPG Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic may be getting a new lease on life, if the Star Wars gaming rumor mill is to be believed. The original Knight of the Old Republic came out back in 2003; since then, there’s been a sequel titled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and a MMORPG called Star Wars: The Old Republic. However, neither of those video games have proven to be as influential as the original Old Republic game before them....

Following a report from Bloomberg that said Apple would announce the transition to ARM Macs at WWDC tomorrow, respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is reporting his latest predictions for the ARM Mac lineup. Kuo believes that Apple will announce the first ARM processor at WWDC and that the first Mac models to feature ARM CPUs will be a next-generation 13.3-inch MacBook Pro and a new redesigned iMac. Kuo confirms that an all-new design iMac is launching imminently, and it will apparently be Apple’s last new Mac featuring an Intel CPU....

Ahead of tomorrow’s Apple event, reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is out with a new investor note highlighting his expectations for the remainder of 2020. Kuo corroborates expectations that the new iPad Air will feature Touch ID in the side button, as well as blood oxygen support on the Apple Watch Series 6. The Apple analyst also predicts that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will include a “slightly narrower notch area.” Kuo corroborates that Apple’s September 15 event will focus on the new iPad Air and the Apple Watch Series 6....

A U.S. ban on carrying laptops and tablets in the cabin of inbound international flights may be extended to European countries, including the UK. Any electronic device larger than a phone would have to be placed in hold baggage. The U.S. government currently applies the ban to flights from 10 airports, mostly Middle Eastern and North African. The measure was introduced last month, the Department of Homeland Security stating that it was in response to intelligence suggesting that terrorists planned to smuggle explosives inside consumer electronics items …...

Earlier this week Apple announced that it sold 41 million iPhones during the last quarter, and today CIRP is out with new analysis on the overall iPhone install base in the United States plus a breakdown by install base. Apple only shares how many iPhones are sold globally per quarter and doesn’t break down sales by model. Consumer Intelligence Research Partners analysis, however, puts the overall US install base at 141 million units compared to 136 million units during the prior quarter and 124 million units in the same quarter a year ago....

It’s no secret that most of Apple’s Mac lineup is long overdue for refreshes and new data out today from Gartner and IDC shows how the prolonged period of no updates is affecting Apple in the overall market. Data from both firms shows that Apple is sliding year-over-year in terms of shipments for the third quarter of 2016… First off, IDC data shows that Apple is down 13 percent year-over-year in terms of shipments....

Apple has been ordered by the South Korean government to revise its App Store refund policy, the Korea Herald reports. The company’s current policy requires users to submit a request for a refund and have the case reviewed by an Apple employee before a refund will be considered. The practice was ruled “unfair” by the Fair Trade Commission after numerous requests from the Citizens’ Coalition for Economic Justice. Apple told the Fair Trade Commission that it would create a new, automated refund system for the Korean App Store, and consider rolling the change out worldwide....
