A new trailer for Rian Johnson’s Knives Out is officially released online. The film is coming off a very successful screening at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, where it was praised for being a highly-entertaining and timely take on the whodunnit genre. While Knives Out didn’t take home the coveted People’s Choice Award at TIFF (that honor went to Jojo Rabbit), the early reactions indicate critics and audiences thoroughly enjoyed it, and Knives Out is poised to be one of the breakout hits of the fall when it debuts theatrically in November....

One of Apple’s most high-profile original content efforts has lost its leading star, according to a new report from Variety. Kristen Wiig was slated to feature in a comedy series from Apple, but has since dropped out due to scheduling difficulties… The SNL alum was to star in a comedy based upon Curtis Sittenfeld’s short-story collection You Think It, I’ll Say It, with Reese Witherspoon serving as producer. A massive rumour broke the other week, positing that EA’s Bioware Austin studio was working on a revamp of one of its most beloved video games, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic (also known as KotOR). This, combined with a recent revelation in Star Wars Rebels that certain events from the classic game are still considered canon, made fans of KotOR very excited indeed. Sadly, it’s since been stated that the rumour of a KotOR remake of some sort was just a fabrication, and that no such project is currently on the cards....

With the new iPhones set to be unveiled in three days from now, TF Securities Ming-Chi Kuo released a report this weekend detailing the analyst’s expectations for relative demand of the four models. To recap, the iPhone 12 will be available in four SKUs: a 5.4-inch model (“iPhone 12 mini’), two 6.1-inch models (Pro and non-Pro) and a new 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The new release, Google Chrome Developer Preview, is a release that now includes support for printing and a QuickTime plug-in to enable multimedia content. The release also features, “lots of important Extensions changes” and a few fixed bugs. “Be sure to read the Known Issues if you are running Chrome for Mac,” the company warns on its development pages. Issues include: if an older version of Chrome is running when this version is automatically installed, the running version will not quit cleanly and will spike the processor at 100%; according to the developers, it will be necessary to Force Quit the application....

What can fans expect from The Last Kingdom season 4? Based on the The Saxon Stories, the historical drama has been compared to Vikings while being praised for its historically accurate details about Danish culture. After three seasons, Alexander Dreymon has appeared in the most episodes of The Last Kingdom. The actor stars as Uthred of Bebbanburg, the protagonist of the original book series. Crunchgear updates the running specs with a faster processor at 2.6GHz but only 2GB (Sonofa!) of RAM for the New Air. They also say the Air will be on lockdown so no upgrades unless you have some soldering skillz. Engadget says 2GB of RAM (upgradable) but slower GHz processors right around 2.13-2.33GHz. Smaller 11.6-inch display, 2 USB ports and an SD card reader seem to be a lock since the prototype Air was found, but of course all these things can change....

Kong: Skull Island is hoping to get a jump on the summer movie rush when it releases on March 10, 2017.
