The idea that the iPhone 11 would feature a triple-camera system in a rectangular formation — three cameras plus the flash — was first raised by Onleaks back in January. Japanese blog Macotakara today corroborates the mockups with sourcing from Chinese suppliers. The site says the design of the new iPhone camera system is similar to the camera module seen in the Huawei Mate 20 and may be available on both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max successors, but limited to higher-capacity storage tiers....

Marvel’s Eternals is set to introduce Kit Harington as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Black Knight - a concept that predates Marvel Comics itself. Marvel Studios has always prided itself on bringing some of the more obscure comic book characters to the big screen; as a result, the MCU has included lesser-known characters such as Dum-Dum Dugan, Jimmy Woo, and Nakia. The Eternals movie was already a deep cut into comic book lore, with Marvel Studios introducing a race of immortal beings who were created millennia ago by the Celestials....

If you were a fan of the series Kitchen Nightmare, which aired for seven seasons on Fox from 2007 through to 2014, and even if you weren’t, you’ve probably heard of Amy’s Baking Company. As shared in a research note, TF Securities Ming-Chi Kuo expects Apple system-in-package partners to ramp up production of the ultra-wide band ‘AirTags’ in the second or third quarter of this year. Kuo says that the supply chain will be producing tens of millions of units by the end of the year. Although not said explicitly, it suggests that Apple’s Tile-like trackers (referenced in code as ‘AirTags’) will be released this year....

For the past thirty years, there’s been some form of Dick Wolf’s police procedural/legal drama on television. Beginning in 1990 with Law & Order and continuing with its most successful and enduring spin-off, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU), each series followed a format involving the investigation of a crime and subsequent prosecution of the defendant. Law & Order focused primarily on homicides, while SVU delves mainly into sex crimes....

Rian Johnson’s murder mystery Knives Out is now in theaters, and as the circumstances of Harlan Thrombey’s death are unravelled, audiences get to meet the entire Thrombey clan. From Harlan’s son Walt to his sponging daughter-in-law Joni, the Thrombeys are a pretty nasty bunch - and Johnson has now revealed that Harlan’s kids and their spouses are all named after ’70s rock stars. The Trump executive order banning US companies from having a business relationship with WeChat has many ramifications, and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is concerned that the hit to iPhone sales will be significant. If the order is implemented in full, it would see WeChat being removed from the App Store worldwide. WeChat is a critically important app for the Chinese market and if it’s no longer available on iOS, iPhone sales could decline by as much as 30%....

Corroborating a report from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from last September, Macotakara reports this evening that the iPhone 7 is expected to be 1mm thinner than the iPhone 6s. Furthermore, the report adds that the device will visually be similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, retaining the same metal design with the same height and width, and will not be waterproof. For comparison’s sake, the iPhone 6s is currently 7....

Korea Times is claiming that a deal has been struck with Apple for Samsung to supply 80% of the chips for next year’s iPhones and iPads, with TSMC picking up the balance of orders. The paper suggests that Samsung will split production of the A9 chip across its Korean and Texas plants, partnering with New York-based GlobalFoundries for additional capacity … Samsung Electronics agreed with Apple to produce application processors (APs) from next year for iPhones and iPads, sources said Monday....

In the latest version of the Canary app, version 2.14.0, the company will be rolling out a new masking feature that allows users to block certain areas of the Canary’s field of view. This allows for the Canary to ignore motion or activity in certain areas and could be crucial for cameras placed in areas with pets, for example. The update will be available to all users who own the Canary Flex outdoor camera....

Reliable Apple analyst MIng-Chi Kuo is out with a new investor note today that offers a timeline on Apple’s switch to mini-LED technology. According to the analyst, mini LED will come to the iPad and MacBook line starting next year. Kuo predicts that Apple will bring mini LED to 4-6 products over time, but that the switch over will start with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in Q3 2020. Kuo says that this iPad Pro model will feature the mini LED display as well as a more powerful A14X processor....

A claimed leaked image of the upcoming iPad Pro is getting some coverage this morning – but it isn’t what it appears … The image was tweeted by Evan Blass, who goes by the @evleaks handle on twitter. Although it appears to be an image we haven’t seen before, everything but the on-screen content is identical to a render created by MySmartPrice almost two months ago. It’s clear that Evan Blass, or one of his sources, has simply taken the original render (left) and Photoshopped in a new screen (right)....

We’ve seen a lot more of the Apple Park campus thanks to the iPhone 8 launch in the Steve Jobs Theater, so the latest drone footage from Matthew Roberts doesn’t show us much we haven’t seen before, but it’s enjoyable eye-candy anyway. It includes dropping down inside the ring at sunset, and a peek down inside the building through some glass panels in the roof … The panels appear to be above an atrium area, and are likely designed to bring additional light into the centre of the building, so don’t really show us anything of the interior....
